Bullock Texas State History Museum

It was a very pretty museum but not particularly interesting. The T.Rex exhibit was decent but the rest of the museum was ok. My favorite exhibit was the Buc ees statue and there was even a brick from the first buc ees store. A truly rare and fascinating artifact of texas history 😉 The higher you go up on the floors the more interesting the exhibits start to look. Overall I would highly encourage you to come on HEB free Sundays. I personally would not pay full price for this museum again.

We had such a wonderful experience at the Texas history museum! We visited during the free admission day with our Bank of America cards (they offer it once a month), and I also love that H-E-B sponsors free admission for everyone on the first Sunday of each month — such a great opportunity for families. The museum itself is fantastic. The exhibits are engaging and beautifully presented. We especially loved the dinosaur exhibition — it’s impressive and exciting for both kids and adults. The building is spacious, well organized, and very comfortable to explore. We’re already planning to come back to watch a movie in the theater! Highly recommend visiting — whether you live in Texas or are just visiting Austin.

I just finished visiting the Bullock Texas State History Museum, and my overall experience was great. The exhibits are well organized, informative, and really bring Texas history to life. The museum is clean, welcoming, and easy to navigate, making it enjoyable for visitors of all ages. I especially appreciated the attention to detail and the variety of displays. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Austin or interested in learning more about Texas history.

Visited for the first time this week. Went with a group of 12 students and we had a great time. We enjoyed each exhibition and then we watched the T-Rex documentary in the IMAX theater. It was very interested although I think the snacks were a bit expensive. Overall I would totally recommend! Even the gift shop was great.

Came here for a corporate event that rented out the whole museum for a couple hours. I didn’t have time to look carefully at the exhibits - ended up walking quickly through the three floors. The design of the exhibits looked well done. They seemed pretty text heavy so it may be challenging for younger audiences. There were multiple video stations but I didn’t watch. The quantity of artefacts on display seemed small but I’d guess appropriate for the story being told. I’d like to come back to read through it more carefully. Definitely recommend!
