Conyers-Rockdale Library System

I stepped into this library and immediately desired to to move to Rockdale County (I live in Henry) to be closer to such an incredible place! I felt this way years ago, but after visiting when they finished the teen section expansion?! (Am I a teen? No, but I adore the new section added! Color schemes, seats, layout, ALL of it!) I shall DEFINITELY be returning ASAP!

I'm new to Georgia and have been slowly finding gems in and out of our neighborhood. I was glad to find this library and all it has to offer. There's a book club, kid's offerings, civil law advice, storytelling, and more. The staff are helpful, and the building is immaculate. I've already been here several times in the last month. There's even a walking trail.

I needed help with a simple print job ...I think I would have received more efficient help from the young man just sitting behind the desk ... Told me screenshot the things I wanted to print and use QR code .. didn't work .. told me email the documents I needed printed to their email ...claims he never got it...after my email clearly says sent ..then I asked is just using the computer a more efficient way...then he pointed me to a different area to start all over again ... However now it's time for my appt .. Thanks for nothing...now I see why they have professional places to help you get the job done. Wasted my time.

Staff is always very nice. The library is always clean. I didn't know about the doors being locked at 5 even though they close at 7, so I didn't necessarily like that I had to walk all the way around to the other entrance upstairs when I parked all the way around on the other side and also go upstairs just to use the bathroom when it's 2 downstairs. I like the checkout systems though and the touch screen computers offered to the kids. I saw the same employee (tall man) actually wipe down the headphones they allow for the kids to use and I definitely appreciated that!

I have visited the children’s area of the Conyers-Rockdale Library multiple times, and this most recent experience was very disappointing. The children’s section is specifically designed for kids ages 0–12. It includes interactive wall activities, toys, books, and play areas that encourage learning and engagement. Naturally, young children, especially toddlers, will sometimes get excited, talk loudly, laugh, or make noise while they play and learn. During our visit, one staff member seemed to have a problem with normal child behavior from the moment we arrived. My toddler sat in the airplane play area, where he often enjoys pretending to fly and interacting with other children. The staff member repeatedly gave dirty looks, made facial expressions, pointed her finger at children, and approached them in a way that felt unwelcoming and intimidating. What was particularly frustrating was that older children in the area were also being loud, talking across the room, laughing, and socializing with friends. However, the staff member seemed to focus primarily on the younger children and parents. We spent much of our visit constantly telling our children to be quiet because we felt uncomfortable and watched the entire time. As we were leaving, the staff member approached us and commented that the children had been “overly loud,” making it feel as though we were being discouraged from returning. This was upsetting because we were actively supervising our children and correcting them when necessary. Toddlers are still learning self-control and often read books aloud, ask questions, and express excitement. That is normal for their age. I also found the staff member rude when I asked for a restroom key. She appeared irritated and directed me elsewhere while continuing to huff and puff, which added to the feeling that families with young children were not welcome. The children’s library should be a place where children can learn, explore, and enjoy books without parents feeling judged for age-appropriate behavior. If a staff member is easily irritated by the sounds of young children, the children’s section may not be the best fit for them. I love libraries and appreciate the resources they provide, but this experience made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable as a parent. Name of the librarian: Delores

Childerns areas is judgement free, I have more than a few kids so I appreciate the staff for letting kids be kids to a certain extent.the size of the entire library is great.

Nice and quiet. Library was organized and staff were very helpful. Great place for applying for your passport too.
